Waendr uses artificial intelligence to power core features of our platform. We believe in being transparent about how AI is used and how your data is handled.
What AI Powers
Waendr uses AI (powered by Anthropic) to generate trip itineraries, answer travel questions, provide travel recommendations, and offer general visa guidance. AI helps personalize your experience based on your preferences, budget, and travel style.
All AI-generated content — including itineraries, chat responses, trip summaries, and visa information — is provided for informational and inspirational purposes only.
Your Data and AI
When you use AI-powered features, relevant context from your request is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) for processing. This may include your travel preferences, messages, and trip details.
Your email address, photos, payment information, and social connections are never sent to AI providers.
Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, data sent via the API is not used to train AI models. For details, see Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy.
Limitations
AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. You should always verify important information independently.
- Prices are approximate estimates. Actual prices may differ.
- Visa information is general guidance, not legal advice. Always verify with the relevant embassy before travel. Visa rules can change at short notice. Waendr is not responsible for denied entry or other consequences of relying on visa information from the Platform.
- Restaurant dietary information should be confirmed directly with the establishment.
- Places may have closed or changed since the AI's information was last updated.
You Are in Control
- Nothing AI-generated is published without your explicit action.
- You can edit or discard any AI suggestion before sharing.
- You can use Waendr's social features without using AI features.
- Passport and visa information is optional — visa guidance simply won't appear if you don't provide it.
- Chat session history is held only in our cache and automatically deleted after 24 hours.
- When you ask the assistant about specific places, we retain the place name, your question text (up to 500 characters), and analytics metadata (timestamps, ask counts, and interaction context) so we can surface trending places across the community. This is deleted when you delete your account.
